Returns, Refund, and Cancellation Policy
Effective Date: April 1, 2026
Applies To: All purchases made through Course Merchant (the "Store")
1. Overview
This Returns, Refund, and Cancellation Policy outline the terms under which customers may cancel purchases, request refunds, or resolve billing issues for digital products and services offered through Course Merchant.
By purchasing a course, subscription, or digital product from the Store, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
2. Digital Product Policy
All courses and digital materials sold through the Store are delivered electronically and are considered digital products.
Due to the nature of digital content, access to purchased courses is granted immediately upon successful payment unless otherwise specified.
3. Refund Eligibility
Refund requests may be considered under the following conditions:
3.1 Standard Refund Window
- Customers may request a refund within 14 days of purchase.
- Refund requests must be submitted in writing to learning.support@ccsdisabilityaction.org.nz
- Refund eligibility may be limited if significant course content has already been accessed or completed.
3.2 Non-Refundable Circumstances
Refunds will generally not be granted in the following situations:
- More than 14 days have passed since purchase.
- The course has been substantially completed or downloaded.
- Certificates of completion have been issued.
- The purchase was made under a special promotion clearly marked as non-refundable.
- Subscription periods that have already elapsed.
3.3 Technical Issues
If a customer experiences technical difficulties preventing access to course materials, the Store will make reasonable efforts to resolve the issue before issuing a refund.
4. Subscription Cancellation
If the Store offers subscription-based access:
- Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time through the user account dashboard or by contacting support.
- Cancellation will prevent future billing.
- Access will remain available until the end of the current billing cycle.
- No partial refunds will be issued for unused portions of a billing period unless required by law.
5. Course Cancellations by the Store
If a course is cancelled or removed by the Store:
- Customers who purchased the course will be notified.
- A full refund or alternative course access may be offered at the Store’s discretion.
6. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Customers are encouraged to contact the Store directly to resolve billing issues before initiating a chargeback with their payment provider.
Filing a fraudulent or unjustified chargeback may result in:
- Suspension of account access
- Permanent removal from the platform
- Restriction from future purchases
- Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
- Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment provider (typically 5–10 business days).
- The Store is not responsible for delays caused by banks or payment processors.
7. Processing of Refunds
8. Exchanges
Because courses are digital products, exchanges are not typically offered. However, customers may contact support to discuss transferring enrolment to another available course, subject to approval.
9. Exceptional Circumstances
The Store reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy at its sole discretion in cases of:
- Demonstrable hardship
- Duplicate purchases
- Verified billing errors
10. Changes to This Policy
The Store reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
